RowPlay vs UI.Vision RPA

The UI.Vision RPA alternative for Chrome

UI.VISION RPA WAS FORMERLY CALLED KANTU

RowPlay gives you the record-and-replay loop UI.Vision is known for — including running a macro for every row of a spreadsheet — without a command language to learn. Do the task once, paste your rows from Excel, and it fills them all in. Scheduling is built into the extension.

FREE · NO ACCOUNT · NO SCRIPTING LANGUAGE

Short version: UI.Vision RPA is a free, capable tool built around a command language, with CSV loops through csvRead and scheduling through your OS’s Task Scheduler or the command line. RowPlay does the same record → replay → spreadsheet loop point-and-click: paste rows straight from Excel, dry run, retry failed rows, and schedule runs inside the extension.

What RowPlay is built for

One macro. Every row of your spreadsheet.

No csvRead, no loop commands. Record the task, paste your rows, run.

Three steps

  1. 1

Record the task once. Fill in the form the way you normally would. Each click and field becomes a step, shown in plain English.

  2. 2

Paste your rows from Excel and link each field to a column — or drop in a .xlsx or .csv file. A normal table with headers works.

  3. 3

Dry run, then Run remaining. Check the first row, then RowPlay does the rest, one row at a time, in your own browser.

Test before you commit

Dry run fills just the first row. If it worked, Run remaining carries on from row 2, so nothing is entered twice.

Retry only what failed

A failed row doesn’t stop the batch. Afterwards, one click re-runs just the rows that failed.

Resume after a crash

Progress is saved after every row. If the browser closes mid-run, pick up from the first row that didn’t run.

A results sheet

Your rows come back with a status column, the reason for any failure and any values you extracted — ready to paste into Excel.

Every kind of field

Text, dropdowns (including custom menus), checkboxes from yes/no columns, and fields that only appear when a box is ticked.

Values that fill themselves

{{today}}, {{row}} and {{random}} add dates, row numbers and unique codes without a column.

Migrating

If you're coming from UI.Vision

UI.Vision already documents its own migration path from iMacros, and its commands will feel familiar if you've scripted browser macros before. If you'd rather skip the command language entirely and just click through the page once, here's what maps to what:

csvRead reading a CSV file→Paste your rows on the Data tab (Excel copy-paste, no file to prepare)
!EXTRACT / ExtractTable commands→An Extract step (single value) or Extract Table step (a whole repeating table/list)
Windows Task Scheduler / launchd wrapping a macro run→The built-in Schedule tab — runs even with the browser UI closed
Writing or hand-editing macro commands→Point-and-click recording, or the Edit as JSON view for a step-level tweak
PRO/Enterprise license key for priority support→Nothing to buy — one free tier, no license to manage

Where each tool fits

  • You need to click around desktop apps or match images on the screen — UI.Vision’s XModules are built for that. RowPlay works inside the browser, on any website.
FAQ

Common questions

Is UI.Vision RPA the same as Kantu?
Yes. UI.Vision RPA used to be called Kantu. If you're looking for a Kantu alternative, everything on this page applies.
Can I import a UI.Vision macro directly?
Not automatically — UI.Vision's commands don't have a 1:1 RowPlay equivalent since RowPlay doesn't have a scripting layer. Re-recording is usually the fastest path, especially for anything using csvRead or extraction commands.
Is RowPlay free the same way UI.Vision's Free edition is?
Yes — both have an unlimited free tier for browser automation. RowPlay doesn't have paid PRO/Enterprise tiers at all; UI.Vision's are optional, mainly for support and multi-machine licensing rather than gating core features. See the homepage for RowPlay's full feature list.
Does RowPlay do desktop automation like UI.Vision's XModules?
No — RowPlay only automates inside browser tabs. If you need to click outside the browser (other apps, OS-level dialogs), UI.Vision's XModules (or Power Automate Desktop) is the better fit.
Does it work on Firefox too, since UI.Vision supports Chrome, Firefox, and Edge?
RowPlay ships for both Chrome and Firefox. It doesn't have an Edge-specific build, though Edge can generally install Chrome Web Store extensions directly.

Record it once. Run it for every row.

Free, no account, ten seconds to install.
